Thinking About a Second Service

Something that’s been clear to me since about my second week at JLP is that the church is ready to have a second worship gathering. I’ve spent the past 167 weeks trying to figure out how to launch it. That’s called “analysis paralysis.” Three years is plenty of time to try three or four different things and, if nothing else, find out what doesn’t work. But it’s easier to think about it and do nothing.

For example, here’s Tony Morgan’s list of 10 factors to consider when adding new services.

Slightly related: Thom Rainer sees worship centers getting smaller, with churches having more services, venues, and campuses; Rainer also lists some trends in worship service times.
